Requirements for the issuance/renewal of an Austrian Passport
To apply for a new passport, please schedule an appointment before coming to the Embassy!
All applicants, including children and infants, must be present at the Embassy when applying for new
passports.
Since March 2009 all new Austrian passports include fingerprints (except for children up to 12 years of
age and emergency passports). The fingerprints will be saved on the chip and not displayed in the
passport.
Children included in parent's passport: Each child, including newborns, must travel on their own
passport. The endorsements of children in passports of their parents became void on 15th June 2012.
The passport of the parent itself remains valid until the expiry date, but only the holder of the passport
can travel with it!
Required Documents:

Application form and declaration form (Eidesstattliche Erklärung) - completed and signed

Original birth certificate (Philippine documents: PSA document, authenticated by the Department of
Foreign Affairs (DFA))

Current passport - If the applicant holds other citizenships, please provide foreign passport(s) at your
appointment

One recent passport picture; please check passport picture criteria first - max. head size 1.4 inch (36
mm), min. eye distance 0.3 inch (8mm), please do not cut the photo

Original citizenship certificate (for children under the age of 12: citizenship certificate of the Austrian
parent)

Original Permanent Resident Card or valid visa
Following further documents may be requested:

Marriage certificate(s) and name change certificate(s)

Divorce decree(s) of former marriage(s)

Proof of academic degree, if you wish to have it entered in the passport (degrees from EU and EEC
countries only!)

If passport has been lost or stolen: proof that loss/theft has been reported to police

Declaration of parents for minors
In the case of passport applications for minor children (under 18 years of age), the declaration of
consent on the back of the application form must be completed in detail and signed by the legal
representative. Proof of legal guardianship must be provided. If parents are divorced or in case of
illegitimate children, the legal document as proof of custody would have to presented.
Consular fees:
Passport: € 76,00
Children’s passport: € 30,00
Changes to valid passports: € 29,00
(Consular fees are only payable in cash in Philippine Pesos according to the monthly exchange rate.)
