AIRLINK NAME CHANGES
The following important information applies to name changes:
The correct first and last name(s) of the passenger travelling needs to be entered exactly as in
the government issued Passport or ID book or card. Entering a middle name is optional and a
maximum of two middle names is permitted. There is a character limitation for the name field.
To complete a name change, Airlink must be the validating carrier. This applies only to
E-tickets and not EMDs.
Name changes are only permitted on wholly unused 4Z/749 issued tickets. Airlink is unable to
help with name changes if an itinerary contains segments on other carriers and/or codeshare
flights.
Replacement name changes will have an administrative cost per name element charged
according to the Passenger Type Code (PTC) on the E-ticket. CHD and INFT discount apply.
Name changes can only be processed directly through any Airlink ATO and CTO office including
4Z GSAs and not online nor by the travel agent.
Any active EMD that does not match the name correction in the PNR cannot be reissued or
associated to the replacement name.
Names should not be abbreviated, and nicknames are not permitted.
No Death Certificates are permitted for a name change. E-tickets must be sent to refunds and a
new E-ticket must be purchased.
Name changes cut off period is no later than 72 hours prior to departure.
The name change administration fee will show as an OC tax on the reissued ticket.
The name change applies on Airlink Regional and Domestic operated flights.

Copies of the Government issued ID or Passport of the current ticket holder and the
new ticket holder is required to support the name change. E-mail to
specialassistance@flyairlink.com together with the Name Change Request form.

HOW TO CHANGE A NAME ON AIRLINK FLIGHT TICKET AT THE AIRPORT
48 HOURS PRIOR TO DEPARTURE AND NO LATER THAN 2 HOURS PRIOR
TO DEPARTURE:

The Name Change Request form (link below) must be completed by the travel
agent or current ticket holder and emailed to the relevant Airlink Airport Ticket Office
(ATO) with consent to do a complete the name change.

Copies of the Government issued ID or Passport of the current ticket holder and the
new ticket holder must be emailed to support the name change and together with the
Name Change Request form.

The E-mail Subject line must read: NAME CHANGE [PNR]

The name change including the E-ticket reissue must be completed no later than 2-
hour before scheduled departure time.

If any of the above cannot be supplied or completed in time, then the original booking
must be cancelled. A new booking for the new traveler must be made and a new
ticket issued at the current ticket prices.
AIRLINK NAME CORRECTIONS
Airlink offers the ability to allow a name correction once an E-ticket has been issued.
The name correction allows you to correct a spelling mistake up to a maximum of 3 characters in
the whole name field free of charge without changing the name element.

Name corrections must be done no later than 2 hours prior to the local scheduled time of
departure.
Name corrections applies on Airlink Regional and Domestic operated flights.
The travel agent or current ticket holder shall email the relevant Airlink ATO, CTO, GSA or 4Z
Reservations support desk (specialassistance@flyairlink.com) with written consent to do the
name correction and retain the same booking class. No Annex “A” Name Change Request form
is required. An e-mailed copy of the Government issued ID or Passport is required to support the
name correction.
Change last name due to Marriage or Divorce
The travel agent or ticket holder must email the relevant Airlink ATO, CTO, GSA or 4Z
Reservations support desk (specialassistance@flyairlink.com) with written consent to
change the last name and retain the same booking class. No Annex A Name Change
Request form is required. An e-mailed copy of the Government issued ID or Passport and
official marriage certificate or divorce document is required to support the last name change
for travel solely within South Africa.
For Regional travel the following 2 options are available:
(a) Do a replacement name change and pay administration fee in same booking class unless
pax require to change to a new flight and date subject to class availability and fare/tax
difference; or
(b) Purchase a new ticket in same booking class. Create a new PNR. The old ticket must be
sent for a refund.
