Parking Ticket Payment Plan
The City of Columbus offers a payment plan option to those who have received parking citations and
need additional time to pay their tickets. The minimum monthly payment is based on the total amount
owed divided by the number of months to make final payment.
Program Summary
A $15 processing fee will be added to the first payment
The customer may choose to pay the balance due over a 2 month to 12 month plan
Payment are due every 30 days from the start of the payment plan
Monthly payments may be made online, over the phone, or in person
Customers can apply over the phone or in person
Payments are applied to oldest ticket(s) first
No additional penalties are added if payments are received on time
If the customer’s vehicle is impounded for any reason while on a payment plan, the customer is
required to pay all impound fees and all outstanding tickets not on an active payment plan to get
their vehicle released
Eligibility Requirements
Must have $100 or more in outstanding parking tickets
Tickets cannot be suspended. Examples include:
o Request for hearing in progress – scheduled hearings on tickets the customer wishes to
include in a payment plan may be cancelled to make those tickets eligible
The customer has paid a ticket by check in the past with insufficient funds (bad check)
Vehicle cannot be currently impounded
Tickets are not in registration hold status (BMV DETER block)
Must not have been removed from a payment plan in the past 12 months for nonpayment
If Customer Defaults on Parking Ticket Payment Plan
The ticket noticing process resumes with the addition of penalties and fees
Parking Services will allow for a one-time re-enrollment into a Parking Payment Plan in a 12-month
period, if less than 30 days has elapsed from the time of a missed payment
If the customer defaults again, they are no longer eligible to participate in a payment plan

What is the fee to enroll in the Parking Ticket Payment Plan?
There is a non-refundable $15 processing fee due with the first payment.
How long do I have to pay?
The customer can choose a 2 month and up to 12 month plan to pay unpaid parking penalties and fees
in equal monthly installments.
What tickets qualify for the Parking Ticket Payment Plan?
All outstanding parking tickets qualify for payment plan if they meet the eligibility requirements listed
above.
If my vehicle has been impounded by the City of Columbus, can I put the impound fees on a Parking
Ticket Payment Plan?
Payment plans are for ticket fines only. Customers are required to pay all impound fees and all
outstanding tickets not on an active payment plan to get their vehicle released.
Will late fees and penalties be waived upon enrollment?
They will not be waived. However, upon approval, no additional late fees and penalties will be assessed
while compliant with the terms and conditions of the Parking Ticket Payment Plan. Additional late fees
and penalties may be assessed if the customer is no longer compliant with the payment plan.
