Superstar George Strait’s

2006 Tour Announced

Country music superstar George Strait is

gearing up for his upcoming tour beginning

mid-January and hitting 25 cities in the

U.S. and Canada through June. Known for

sell-out shows, Strait will once again play

to large arenas with a center stage configu-

ration allowing him to face all sides of the

crowd throughout his shows during the

2006 tour. Joining Strait for the entire run

will be Mercury’s Tracy Lawrence, who

has a respectable 16 No. 1 singles in his

career and Epic recording artist, singer-

songwriter and CMA Horizon Award

nominee Miranda Lambert. Ticket sales

information is available on the website at

www.georgestrait.com or on the back of the

newsletter in the Itinerary section. Tickets

for the first several U.S. shows will go on

sale Dec. 3rd and all Canadian dates will

go on sale Dec. 3rd. Fan club seating for

the first several shows will go on sale Dec.

2nd. Fan Club seating will be available for

the Canadian shows.

With over 62 million records sold and a

record 51 #1 hits, George Strait is one of

the most popular recording artists in histo-

ry. He consistently sells out arenas during

each tour and holds more than 20 atten-

dance records including a single day record

of 68,266 at a sold-out house at the

Houston Livestock Show.

Throughout his unparalleled 24-year

career, Strait has earned 12 Academy of

Country Music Awards including 2003’s

Gene Weed Special Achievement award,

15 Country Music Association Awards, four

American Music Awards, and countless

trade and industry achievements. Strait

holds the career record for CMA nomina-

tions with 72, and he is nominated again

this year for the CMA’s Male Vocalist of

the Year honor. He has released 32 albums -

all of which have hit gold or platinum

status. His latest release Somewhere Down

in Texas debuted at #1 on pop album charts

and was certified Platinum by the RIAA in

After more than a year of design and

experimentation by the talented people at

Bill Young Productions, the George Strait

Fan Club has made some significant and

user friendly changes to the website

General Store and to fan club seating.

We will address the General Store first.

We have gone from an in-house software

program to a completely web-based system

that will tie all of our data and information

together, speed up all of our systems, speed

up shipping, and give fans and customers

the opportunity to interact with their own

accounts and, in most cases, track ship-

ments.

Under the guidance of Bill Young senior

VP Sid Farbstein, the general store has

become much easier to use. Fans will be

able to find their merchandise, choose ship-

ping options and track their shipments.

Fans will also be able to check their own

accounts if they lose or forget their User

Name or Passwords and have a direct link

by email to our customer service center. In

addition, fans will no longer be given a dif-

ferent User Name and Password in each

issue of Strait Talk to get into the

“Members Only” section of the fan club.

Fans who were members before the change

were emailed permanent User Names and

Passwords, while members who have

joined since the changeover, have been able

to choose their own User Name and

Password. Each member will have their

own unique User Name and Password.

In order to place an order on the site, cus-

tomers must have an email address. No

orders can be placed on-line without one.

This enables us to notify customers when

an order has been placed or shipped, plus it

enables us to send membership cards

immediately to new members or members

that are renewing. It also enables us to noti-

fy members about their expiration dates,

concert on-sale dates or changes, special

merchandise offers, periodic news updates

and other things that we have planned. If

you are joining the fan club or renewing,

please make sure and double click on each

link that is on your confirmation email. For

email members, these links lead you to all

the information promised in your member-

ship, such as membership cards, bios, pho-

tos, etc. For members who choose the mail

option, the confirmation email will include

a link that allows you to print out your

membership card.

Fan club members who do not have a

computer or email address, will still be able

to order memberships, renewals and mer-

chandise by mail or by calling the Strait

Line order desk at 1-800-338-GSFC (4732).

For those who have not given the fan club

your email address, please do so by sending

the information to us through the customer

service link in the general store or by call-

ing the fan club office at 615-824-7176. If

you do not have an email address you may

use friends or relatives email address in

order to obtain concert on-sale dates and

special offers. Please note that we do not

give out email addresses or personal infor-

mation to any other company for any rea-

son. It is only for our internal use.

We have also improved the way that fan

club seating will be sold. Fan club seating

which goes on sale, to fan club members

only, the day previous to the general public

sale will be used in the following manner.

Fan club members will be sent an email

with a link to click on. The link will take

members to the ticketing site where they

will have the opportunity to purchase up to

four (4) tickets. Fan Club members will no

longer need to use anything other than their

own personal User Name and Password.

Fan Club members that do not have email

addresses or did not receive an email notice

about the pre-sale, may go the “Members

Only” section of the George Strait website

at www.georgestrait.com, click on the

“2006 Calendar of Events,” find the show

that is on sale that day and click “Purchase

Tickets.” Members will be required to

enter their own personal User Name and

Password in order to make their ticket pur-

chase.

The fan club is very excited about the

new general store and the fan club seating

changes. We also understand that it is an

evolving process and a work in progress as

we continue to work with out programmers

at BYP to make things better and smoother.

Please note that when shopping for

Christmas merchandise, that the Fan Club

will close the office for the Christmas

Holiday beginning Dec. 21st and will not

re-open until Jan. 3rd. All persons ordering

new memberships and renewals on-line

will get immediate response, but those

ordering by mail or by 800 numbers are

subject to the 4-6 week delivery notice. All

memberships must be active for 7-days

before they become available for the Fan

Club seating.

Twenty seven (27) new items have been

added to the George Strait general store in

time for Christmas and a number of other

tour items will be available around the first

of the year. The items are all available to

see by going to the George Strait Website

at www

.georgestrait.com and clicking on

“General Store.” Due to the timing neces-

sary to get Strait Talk to the printer, the

new items were not available to put in the

catalog. New this year are twelve fashion

style ladies shirts that include Tee’s with

beautiful new designs, some using glitter,

caviar beads and fashion foil. Also new are

the embroidered lounging style sweatshirt

and pants.

We also have several generic short and

long-sleeve shirts that are great for both

men and women with great new designs. In

addition to the shirts, we also have a new

nightshirt, caps and bandanas. The store is

also featuring two new ladies jackets in

pink and brown, a grey half-zippered fleece

pullover and a new BB style black and

khaki jacket. The new merchandise is the

very classiest and fashionable to date.

Arrives In Time For Christmas

Tickets to the 2006 George Strait Team

Roping Classic are selling at a record pace

and fans wanting to attend next years event

are encouraged to order them as soon as

possible. Dates for the 2006 event are

March 10th & 11th at the San Antonio

Rose Palace in San Antonio, Texas. The

greatest ropers from all over America will

vie for close to $500,000 in cash and

prizes. The event is a two-day affair begin-

ning on Friday, March 10th with hundreds

of teams competing for cash and an oppor-

tunity to be one of the top 50 teams invited

back on Saturday, March 11th for the finals

to vie for the hundreds of thousands of dol-

lars in cash and prizes. Speed Williams and

Clay O’Brien Cooper each earned a Chevy

Silverado dually truck, a Bruton Strait

Extreme 3-horse slant trailer and over

$36,000 in cash while winning the title last

year.

Tickets prices are the same as last year

with prices for each day of roping at $16,

including shipping and handling. Fans may

purchase tickets on the GSTRC website at

www.gstrc.com or by clicking on the Team

Roping button at the George Strait website.

Fans may also call their orders at 210-698-

0791 between 9am and 5pm Monday thru

Friday. No orders are taken between noon

and 1pm each day. Tickets may be ordered

using visa, MasterCard and Discover Card.

Fans may also order tickets by mail by

sending a personal check or money order

The George Strait Team Roping Classic

for 2006 has been a very hot ticket item

and we encourage fans who would like to

go, to get their tickets as early as possible.

Tickets sales, at this point, are way ahead

of previous years. If you have already pur-

chased tickets to the March 10th & 11th

roping, they will be mailed out the first

week of February. If you have any ques-

tions about the roping tickets, please call

210-698-0791 between 9-12 and 1-5 cen-

tral time, Monday thru Friday.

We have received many beautiful new

items for the George Strait general store on

our website. Many of the items will be

sold only thru the fan club in 2006 and

will not be available on the road during the

tour due to limited space in transportation.

Welcome to the end of the year/beginning

of a new year issue. This year has really

flown by. George has had a great year with

a super tour, a very successful album,

award nominations, and a record breaking

George Strait Team Roping Classic. In

addition to that, George Strait’s line of

Wrangler shirts and Justin boots are flying

out the door at retailers across the country.

Also during the past year he has done

photo shoots and filmed commercials, been

a guest auctioneer at a charity event and

even had a little time to hunt and fish. It

has truly been a great year.

We are all looking forward to the Holiday

season and getting ready for the 2006 tour

across the USA and in Canada.

I am sure that you have noticed the new

look of the George Strait website. We are

very proud of it and hope you agree. We

think it is the best so far. It does amaze me,

what you can do on a computer. If you

have not checked out the new site, please

take a moment and visit

We have noticed that fan club members

like to shop and renew their memberships

on line. Please note that when you renew

your memberships on-line to please read

everything carefully. The $15.00 e-mail

membership asks you to download and

print “all” your material. Please the bene-

fits on-line so you will know what you

should be downloading. $20 mail member-

ships ordered on-line also must download

your membership card as you will not be

receiving one in the mail. All $20 mail

option members receive their packages

through the mail.

If you have an e-mail address, please

make sure we have it and if it changes,

please let us know. It is amazing how many

people do not get notices because they have

changed email addresses and didn’t notify

us. This is the best way in the world for us

to communicate with you as we send out

news blast, special offers and concert infor-

mation to our email database.

We are no longer putting a User Name

and Password in Anita’s notes as the sys-

tem has changed and each member in good

standing has his or her own unique user-

name and password. Fans who were mem-

bers before the website change were

ly as a few of the ladies items run a little
