All ID requirements are subject to change based on account or customer information. Please contact your local branch for additional ID requirements.
Things to know before you go
• Please bring a primary and secondary form of ID
• All documents must be original (we cannot accept copies or screenshots) and valid (not expired)
• We recommend you have a U.S. address (be sure to include your apartment or dorm number) and a valid phone number
before opening an account
For U.S. Citizens, the following are acceptable forms of identication:
Primary ID Secondary ID
• Birth Certicate (minors only)
• Driver’s License w/photo (U.S.)
• Passport w/photo
• Social Security Card (minors/seniors/disabled)
• State Issued ID w/photo (U.S.)
• Tribal or Bureau of Indian Aairs w/photo (U.S.)
• U.S. Military/Veteran’s ID w/photo
• Additional Primary ID
• Bank Statement <60 days old
• Chase or Bank Issued ATM Banking Card
• Chase or Bank Issued Credit/Debit Card
• Employer ID w/photo
• Employer Pay Stub / Pay Check / Letter with name & address
• Other U.S. Federal/State issued ID with or w/o photo
• Social Security Card
• Student ID w/photo
• Utility Bill w/name and address <60 days
For U.S. permanent residents (with a Green Card) – Non-U.S. citizens, the following are acceptable
forms of identication:

• Permanent Resident Card w/photo (also known as
the Green Card or Resident Alien)

• U.S. Military/Veteran’s ID w/photo

Secondary ID
Attention students: Before visiting a Chase branch to open your account, please bring a primary and secondary form of ID, and
proof of student status. Your secondary ID can also serve as your proof of student status (student ID w/ photo). DS-2019 and I20
are examples of commonly used IDs for international students. We also recommend you have a full U.S. address (including your
apartment or dorm number) and a valid U.S. phone number.
