CyberLink PowerDirector has five separate editing modes. When you launch the
program you are prompted to choose one of the following editing modes:
Full Feature Editor: select this option to enter the classic editing mode of CyberLink
PowerDirector, where all of the program's features are available to you.
4

started, then the Easy Editor can help. The Magic Movie Wizard takes you through a
step-by-step process to import, style, adjust, and preview your finished movie, in just a
few steps.

a dynamic slideshow. Follow the steps in the Slideshow Creator to import your photos,

Importing Media into PowerDirector
The first step in creating your production is to import your project’s media into
CyberLink PowerDirector. You can import media by:
Importing media files: if you already have video, audio, and image files on your
computer's hard drive, you can import the files directly into the media library. This
is done in the Edit module of CyberLink PowerDirector by clicking on the
button near the top left corner.
Capturing media: you can capture media from a variety of sources, including a
video camcorder, webcam, microphone, and more. Just click the Capture button
to enter the Capture module.
Note: if your camcorder or device that contains your media connects to your computer
via a USB cable, just manually transfer the files to your computers hard drive. After that
just import the transferred media files into the media library in the Edit module.
Downloading media: in the Edit module you can download photos from Flickr,
templates and effects from DirectorZone, and your backed up media from
CyberLink Cloud. Just click the button to start downloading media into the
media library.
Editing Your Media
Once you have your media in the media library, you can begin putting your video
production together. The following outlines some of the procedures and features you
can use to create your production.
Arranging Media in Your Production
To insert media into the workspace timeline, just manually drag and drop a media clip
from the media library, to a desired position on a track to add it to the timeline.
Continue this process until you create your production. You add the media clips in the
order that tells the story you want to tell.
Action Camera Center
The all new Action Camera Center lets you perform quick fixes on your video clips and
add effects that highlight the action sequences in the video.
5
To open it, select a video clip in the media library, click the button, and then select
Action Camera Center. It can also be accessed by selecting a video clip in the timeline,
clicking the Tools button, and then selecting Action Cam Center.
Motion Tracker
The Motion Tracker tool lets you track the motion of one or more objects in a video clip.
You can then add title text, effects, or PiP images/videos that move with the tracked
object in the video.
To access, select a video clip in the timeline, click the Tools button, and then select
Motion Tracker.
Stylish Effects and Templates
Use the over 400 professional quality built-in effects and templates in the Effect, PiP
Objects, Particle, Title, and Transition Rooms to add creativity and flair to your
production.
If that isn’t enough, you can download thousands more from DirectorZone:
http://www.directorzone.com
.
Design Studio Tools
Use PowerDirector's Design Studio tools to customize media clips, effects and
templates. The PiP, Title, Particle, and Transition Designers let you use precise keyframe
controls to create your own effects.
To open the designers, just place a media clip or template in your production’s timeline,
select it, and then click the Modify button above the timeline.
Outputting Your Video Production
Once you are done editing your video production, you can output it by creating a
video file on your computer or burning it to a disc.
Producing a Video File
Click the Produce button to output your production as a video file, or upload it directly
to a social media web site. You can create video files with up to 4K Ultra HD quality, in
the H.264 AVC, H.265 HEVC, XAVC S, and many other formats.
Burning Production to a Disc
If you want to burn your production to a disc with disc menus you customize in another
