Hawaii EBT Online Frequently Asked Questions
Hawaii SNAP Individuals and families can now purchase groceries online using their Kokua EBT card at
Walmart. You will be able to order food online that you would normally buy with your SNAP EBT card-in
person and pickup curbside or select home delivery *Walmart Express Delivery and Grocery Pick-up is
only available for Hawaii at this time.
Can I use my Kokua EBT to make purchases online?
Yes, with your Hawaii SNAP benefits, you can purchase
groceries online using your EBT card. You can purchase the
same food you would normally purchase in-store.
If you have Cash Benefits available on your EBT Card, you
can you use those benefits to make food or other purchase
at Walmart.
What stores will take by EBT card online?
Currently, you can use your EBT card to make online
purchases at Walmart. You can find out more about how

Why can I only use my EBT card online only at Walmart?
Currently Walmart is the only store that can accept EBT
card online purchases in Hawaii. We are working hard to
add more stores in the future!
Can I order online and have my items delivered?
You can purchase groceries online using your EBT card and
have them delivered, but you CANNOT use your SNAP
benefits to pay for the delivery fee. If your Kokua EBT card
has cash benefits available, you may use it to pay for
Walmart’s Delivery Fee.
Please note, not all Walmart locations participate in
grocery pickup & delivery. For stores that do offer
availability, there is a limitation of a 9-10 miles radius from

Is there a delivery fee?
Groceries purchased online with an EBT card from
Walmart are subject to a delivery fee varying from $7.95
to $9.95 depending on location, variability of food items,
and time selected for delivery Walmart offers unlimited
deliver for $12.95 per month or $98 per year.
Walmart Express Delivery fee is $10.00. Express delivery is
subject to availability & restrictions at select stores.
Express fee applies. Standard delivery fee may apply.
Standard Delivery is unavailable for Walmart online
purchases for Hawaii at this time.
Is there a basket minimum when placing an online?
There is no-basket minimum when ordering groceries
online though Walmart for SNAP recipients
Can I use my EBT card to cover the delivery fee?
No. SNAP benefits cannot be used to cover the delivery fee
at Walmart. You must pay for fees with another form of
payment, like a credit card or debit card. If your KOKUA
EBT has cash benefits, you may use those benefits to pay
for the Walmart delivery fee.
Can I order and pick up my items?
When you buy your groceries online using your EBT card
from Walmart, you can pay online using your BET card and
schedule a grocery pick-up for no charge.
Can I use by SNAP Benefits to buy non-food items?
No. You only can use your SNAP benefits to buy SNAP
eligible food items at Walmart. To learn more on what
