4-H Club Reports
Mustang
Wranglers
The Mustang Wranglers Mustang
Wranglers participated in the Mountai-
nair Light Parade in December 22. It
was a lot of fun. Also wrapped pre-
sents to give to the Angel tree.
4-H Club Reports
The Pioneers 4-H club had a great time eating Frito Pies
Playing BINGO and enjoying each others company for the
January monthly meeting. The new club leaders were
introduced as Kay Sartori, Alex and Rob Wagner. Thank you to
everyone for welcoming our new club leaders and for such

Dalli Cain and Nora Encinias attended this years SLR.
A fun packed weekend, we heard amazing speakers, played fun
games, attended inspiring workshops, went on profession tours, and
sooo much more! During the Community Service Project all in attend-
ance made dog toys, and brought donations of food, blanket, and
towels. They brought home a big box of toys and supplies to be do-
nated to our local animal shelters.

Knitting classes will be held on the third Thursday
this month afterschool at the Extension Office so please

Leather Craft Classes will be held on the 2nd and 4th
Wednesdays February 8th and 22nd with two classes the
1st class will be from 2:30-3:30 pm with the second class
4:00-5:00 pm at the Soil & Water Educational building
(701 10th street, Estancia)
Macramé Class will be held at the same location on the
2nd Wednesday February 8th with two classes the 1st class
will be from 2:30-3:30 pm with the second class 4:00-5:00
pm.
Cross Stitch class will be held at the same location on the
4th Wednesday February 22nd with two classes the 1st
class will be from 2:30-3:30 pm with the second class 4:00
-5:00 pm.

The National Healthy Living, STEM, and AgriScience Summits are being com-
bined into
one summit now retitled, IGNITE”.
The 2023 IGNITE event will be held March 9 12 at the Renaissance Hotel in
D.C.
Registration will open November 15. Registration fee is $950 for double occupancy and $1200 for
single occupancy rooms. Registration covers:
High-impact programming featuring national experts and leaders along with opportunities for ca-
reer exploration, local action planning and building connections with teens from across the
country.
Room and board (based on double occupancy for both youth and
adults) All meals and breaks (excluding state-organized meals and
events) Support from trained collegiate facilitators and Program
Assistants (PAs) DC area site visits and all program materials
Some scholarships are available through the State 4-H Department! More info coming in Jan-

The Shooting Sports State Championships is for senior age members. The current rules can be found on the
State 4-H website under the Shooting Sports tab.
New Mexico 4-H Shooting Sports Leader Certification
Dates for our spring Shooting Sports Leader Certification in Otero County Fair Grounds, 401 Fairgrounds Rd.,
Alamogordo, NM 88310 Deadline to register is February 10th.
is set for February 25-26, 2023 to try to catch everyone up and to allow for two
certifications in a year. We will continue to use the online modules participants
will need to complete prior to attending. Leaders can go to:
www.4-hshootingsportscollege.com to complete this portion, if they have already
completed the online module this year they are good to go. The online portion will cover items including his-
tory, introduction to 4-H shooting sports, creating high quality programs, and risk management and is now avail-
able online through Zing-books at a cost of $20.00 to access that portion of the training.
The training will begin Saturday at 8:00 am, February 25
th
, and conclude on Sunday February 26
th
. Cost for the
hands-on portion will be $60.00 and for any questions and information about registration contact the State 4-H
Department.

CLOVERBUDS: 5 to 8 years old AND in Kindergarten, 1st, or 2nd grade
NOVICE: 9 to 11 years old or 8 years old AND in the 3rd grade.
JUNIOR: 12 and 13 years old or 11 years old AND in the 6th grade.
SENIOR: 14 18 years old OR 13 years old AND in the 8th grade
